The Gilmin Group
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you again for continuing to support us here at the Gilmin Group. I thought I might also give you a glimpse of what of we have been up to lately. We have had a busy summer and fall as I’m sure most of you have.
We currently have 8 folks living here, with 2 of them being a single mom with a toddler that is 3 years old. The young mom works a lot of late hours at UK, so Jayla, (the three-year-old), is my sidekick most of the time. It is hard to believe, but they have spent their second Christmas with us. As many of you know, having a little one in the house makes Christmas even more special. We just want to thank you so much for allowing us to take care of and bless those who live with us and so many others who God places in our lives.
Our mornings stay somewhat consistent throughout the year. Travis takes the boys to the YMCA every day before coming home to breakfast, devotions, and some work. Winter is often welcomed here at the house. The guys are happy with the break from maintaining a minimum of fifteen yards. When we are not mowing, we are helping people in the community with various projects as well as working in the garage
God has now allowed us to give away 24 vehicles with #25 ready and waiting to be given to a young lady once she gets her license. Please continue to let people know about this part of the ministry. When vehicles are donated, it provides training opportunities for our young men to get these cars ready and has been a true God sized blessing for so many. The look on their faces when they hear, “This is from God. You owe us nothing”, is beyond explanation. We explain to them, someone blessed us with the vehicle and the money to refurbish it, all because they want the recipient to know the Love of the Father.
We have also been hosting a weekly Bible study here on Saturday mornings for about a year and a half. It has been wonderful. We have been having between 15 to 25 every week. We start breakfast at 9:00 and our study at 9:30. We are currently studying the book of John for anyone that might want to join us.
Many of you have attended our fall Bowling Events in the past. We have not scheduled one for the past couple years due to covid. I had contemplated having one this fall but it seems like every time we schedule an event like this, there are so many things going on with families and fall sports that a lot of folks just cannot make it. So, I thought we might try something different. I am excited to tell you that we are going to have our next bowling event this upcoming February on Sunday the 5th from 2-4. Hopefully, with it being after the holidays and with so much notice, a lot of you will be able to attend. I am really excited to see all of you there and have some fun on a cold winter afternoon! Please continue to pray for us as we seek to be obedient to what God has shown us. Although we stay busy, it is impossible to meet all the needs. We are asking God to help provide the finances so we can provide a salary for someone who has committed to help us take care of the needy and widows in our community. Thanks again for your faithfulness to Gilmin and the Lord.
