Travis and Christie Lynch

Family Biography
Personal History
Although Christie is from Harlan County and Travis is from Bourbon County, the Lynch’s have lived in Madison County for nearly thirty years.  Travis and Christie met in high school in 1983 and began dating in 1984.  After they both graduated college, they were married on July 18, 1992.  They have two children, Andrew and Gracie.  They currently live on a farm, purchased by Christie’s father (William “Bill” Eager) and uncle (Robert “Bob” Eager).  Following God’s call, they now desire to build a home so they can minister to young men on the farm on which they are so blessed to live.

Educational Background
Travis and Christie both graduated Madison Central High School in 1987.  Christie went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University in 1991.  Travis originally attended Murray State University but returned home to finish his Bachelor’s in Political Science with a Minor in Health education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1992.  Christie entered the work force and Travis went back to school to get his teaching certification while working and coaching high school football.  Travis started teaching in 1994 at a conventional high school and continued to teach there for six years until he obtained his Master’s in School Counseling in 2000.

After the birth of their first child, Christie left her position as an accountant and Travis began teaching at a Day Treatment facility for juvenile offenders.  Travis continued to teach there until 2008 when God called him to work on the Gilmin Group ministry projects full time.

Personal Ministry Statement
Our family’s desire is for God’s will to be fulfilled in our lives.  We seek to do whatever God asks us to do.  We believe that when He calls, He will provide for every need.  We strive to be people who are completely sold out to Him, in hopes of being a light to others who may seek a more personal and meaningful relationship with the God who’s love is unconditional and can heal all wounds.

Guiding Principles of the Gilmin Group Staff
The staff members of the Gilmin Group seek to:

  • Put God first in all aspects of life.
  • Make themselves available to people who need help, answers, prayer, or fellowship.
  • Desire to be held accountable for their actions, and accept responsibility when confronted with actions that are perceived as un-Godly by friend or foe.
  • Find as many ways possible to engage in the work of God’s Kingdom.
  • Provide Christian examples by loving everyone as God commanded.
